Ack. Sorry for the edit guys - had to suddenly run off before I managed to write anything here

A portrait commission done for a private client on elance of their demon character. For some reason I really enjoyed painting this one. I have a feeling that after painting so many flames it's now time for foliage and flowers.

Anyway, a visible update because I wanted to ask you what do you think about zodiacs. Complete uninteresting bullshit, fairy-tales but still fun or tru-fax and something you follow every day? I'm really interested in what you think.

Zodiacs and astrology things fascinate me, but I don't take them seriously. Just like mythology. I'm wondering if (read: hoping!) you'll do the rest and if so, how you'd represent the Gemini one.

I don't believe that zodiac signs influence us any more then we let them. Any influence we let the have is simply what influence we let the writer of the predictions have over us. They're fun to look at, but I don't pay heed to them. Believing in them will make them come true, as much as you're able to make them come true.

I don't adhere to the belief system(s) of astrology, but it is very interesting in a similar way I find mythology interesting. The fairy-tale-ish aspect of it is actually fascinating to me; it adds a sense of mysticism 'real' things lack. As such zodiacs are fun subjects for art and because they can be inspirational I have a certain interest towards astrology.

That said, this is gorgeous. Just like it's subject matter, your art of it too is inspiring. The colours, the light, the intensity and crispness of your paintings; I could learn a lot from you and I always look forward to seeing your work in my inbox. Also, I love that you are quite a bit more subtle with your use of refraction/chromatic abberation. It adds just that bit more depth without drawing too much attention to its use. It's barely there, but just enough to give your subjects that more mass, texture and volume. Love it

I think zodiacs are fun, but they're very much just a pseudoscience to me. I will look at them just for fun, but I wont take them for a grain of salt.
